JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (CBS12) — Tiger Woods was involved in a crash on South Beach Road on March 27, prompting emergency response from local deputies.

Authorities reported that Woods attempted to pass a pickup truck towing a trailer and subsequently struck the trailer. His flipped onto its side as a result of the collision. The Martin County Sheriff's Office noted multiple signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and lethargic movements, during their investigation at the scene.

Deputies found two pills, later identified as hydrocodone, in Woods' pants pocket. He acknowledged taking prescription medications and stated he was distracted by his phone and radio prior to the crash, declaring, “I looked down at my phone and all of a sudden… BOOM!”

Woods submitted to a breathalyzer test, which indicated no alcohol in his system, but he refused a urine test. This led to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
