HAZELTON, N.D. — A 50-year-old man was killed in a crash Thursday, Sept. 4, in central North Dakota.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. when a 2003 Pontiac Montana, traveling southbound on First Avenue Southeast, failed to negotiate a left turn at the intersection with 61st Street Southeast. The vehicle subsequently entered the south ditch and struck a tree. The driver, from Menoken, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders, including the Emmons County Sheriff's Office, Hazelton Rural Fire, and Linton Ambulance, were dispatched to the crash site.
The Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Hazelton is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Bismarck.
