Man Airlifted to Hospital Following Single-Vehicle Crash in Lee County.

LEE COUNTY, Ill. — A crash on Pump Factory Road sent a 53-year-old man to the hospital via airlift on Thursday evening.

At approximately 8:05 p.m., Lee County 911 received reports of the crash near the Green River, south of Arch Road. Upon arrival, deputies found a truck that had collided with a guardrail.

Authorities noted that the driver, identified as Cory Zimmerly of Amboy, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Deputies had to break a window to reach him, and he was extricated with assistance from the Amboy, Sublette, and Dixon Rural Fire Departments.

Due to the severity of his injuries, an airlift service was requested, and Zimmerly was subsequently transported to a hospital in Rockford.

The incident is under investigation, and Zimmerly's current medical status remains unconfirmed. No additional information has been released by authorities.
