SIDNEY, ME—One person was critically injured and two others sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 Thursday morning.
The incident occurred near mile marker 118 at approximately 8:30 a.m., according to Shannon Moss from the Maine Department of Public Safety. Shawn Stone, 28, of Presque Isle, has been charged with Operating Under the Influence, Reckless Conduct, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Aggravated Driving to Endanger.
Authorities reported that Stone was speeding and driving erratically prior to the crash, which involved his vehicle striking a guardrail and rolling over. Stone and an underage passenger were transported to Maine General Hospital for minor injuries. A third occupant was airlifted to Maine Medical Center via LifeFlight with serious injuries.
The white van was the only vehicle involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
