POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — One person was killed and several others injured following an ATV crash at Soggy Bottom ATV Park on Saturday night.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), two ATVs collided while navigating the Canadian River front. The incident occurred when 45-year-old Jason Kane drove his ATV into the path of another ATV operated by a 24-year-old from Oklahoma City.
Kane's ATV overturned, leading to his ejection from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers on Kane's ATV sustained injuries, and OHP reported that seatbelts were not in use by all occupants.
The driver of the second ATV also suffered injuries. OHP confirmed that both the driver and passenger of this ATV were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather information.
