A two-vehicle crash near Townsend, Delaware, resulted in the death of a 69-year-old woman late on Feb. 8, according to the Delaware State Police.
The victim, a resident of the Magnolia area, has not yet been publicly identified. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred around 10:41 p.m. on Route 1.
Emergency services responded promptly, with medical aid provided at the scene. Despite efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. No additional injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
Route 1 experienced temporary lane closures during the response and investigation, with traffic delays reported.
