MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. — A local woman died following a multi-vehicle crash on I-90 on February 26.
Authorities said the accident occurred around mile marker 46, near the interchange with Illinois Route 47, south of Huntley. The McHenry County Coroner's Office reported that the victim was identified as 21-year-old Dasiree Cunningham of Rockford.
Cunningham was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 5:30 a.m. An autopsy revealed her cause of death as brain injuries.
The Coroner's Office is conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Illinois State Police, Huntley Fire Department, and Northwestern Medicine Huntley. Further details regarding the circumstances of the crash are pending.
