Arlington Crash Claims Life of 6-Year-Old After Car Rear-Ends Dump Truck.

ARLINGTON, TX – A collision on Interstate 20 involving a and a dump truck resulted in the death of a child early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 12:01 a.m., both vehicles were traveling westbound on Interstate 20 near the US Highway 287 interchange when they collided. The driver of the car is believed to have become distracted, leading to the crash into the rear of the dump truck, according to Arlington Police.

There were three occupants in the car, including two children in the backseat. All three were transported to local hospitals, where a 6-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the child was in a car seat but may not have been properly restrained during the incident. The drivers of both vehicles and the surviving child are expected to recover, police stated.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will release the identity of the deceased once the family has been informed. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with authorities working to determine the details surrounding the distraction that led to the accident.
