Highway Patrol Identifies Man Killed in Collision with Combine.

HARVEY, N.D. — A fatal crash occurred Friday, Oct. 31, involving a pickup truck and a combine at 12:53 p.m.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Mark Mears, 47, of Harvey, was driving eastbound in a 2020 Nissan Titan on 29th Street Northeast, approximately two miles northeast of the city. A 2025 Case 9260 combine, operated by 23-year-old Ethan Arnold, of Harvey, was traveling southbound on 39th Avenue Northeast.

Witnesses reported that neither vehicle yielded at the uncontrolled intersection, resulting in a collision. Both Mears and Arnold were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Mears was at the scene, while Arnold sustained no injuries. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.

Emergency response teams, including the Wells County Sheriff's Office, Harvey Fire Department, and Harvey Ambulance, were dispatched to the location. Lane closures were reported as responders addressed the situation.

Harvey is located approximately 73 miles southeast of Minot.
