Two students killed and seven injured in Tennessee field trip bus crash.

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A school from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System was involved in a fatal crash in Carroll County on Friday, March 27.

The incident occurred while the , carrying 25 students and five adults from Kenwood Middle School, was en route to Jackson. The crash involved the bus, a dump truck from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and a Chevrolet Trailblazer near the intersection of Highway 70 and Cedar Grove.

Authorities confirmed that two students lost their lives in the crash, while the TDOT truck contained two adults and one adult was in the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The conditions of the other occupants have not been disclosed. According to the Associated Press, at least seven additional individuals sustained injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is spearheading the investigation. Emergency crews remain on-site as they continue recovery operations and to determine the cause of the collision. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Families of those on the bus have been notified, according to school officials. The Clarksville-Montgomery County School District expressed condolences to the affected families.

Governor Bill Lee extended prayers to those impacted by the tragic event, highlighting the need for community support during this difficult time.
