FRANKLIN COUNTY, Miss. — One person was killed and two others injured in a collision on Highway 84 Monday night.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded at approximately 7:20 p.m. to the crash involving a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. Authorities reported that the Tahoe was heading west on Highway 84 when it struck the Silverado, which was traveling north on Highway 33 and crossing Highway 84.
Elmer Wallace Jr., 80, of Vidalia, Louisiana, was identified as the deceased driver of the Tahoe. Brenda Wallace, 79, a passenger in the Tahoe, sustained injuries, along with Joshua Slayton, 36, of Gonzales, Louisiana, the driver of the Silverado. Both were transported to a local hospital; their conditions have not been disclosed.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to MHP.
