Kauai, Hawaii (Island News) – Three people died in a helicopter crash near Kalalau Beach on March 26 at approximately 3:45 p.m.
The tour helicopter, operated by Airborne Aviation, went down during a flight. Two additional passengers were treated at the scene and transported to Wilcox Medical Center with injuries, authorities reported.
Kauai County Mayor Derek Kawakami indicated that the area around the crash site might be closed to the public, although further details are pending.
Emergency responders included the Kauai Fire Department, Kauai Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Coast Guard, American Medical Response, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
