Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-55 North at Elton Road Causes Traffic Delays

JACKSON, Miss. — A multi-vehicle accident occurred Wednesday morning on I-55 north at Elton Road, causing significant traffic delays.
According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), the crash was reported around 6 a.m. Live camera footage captured vehicles piled together, obstructing the roadway. Emergency responders, including police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene, which was cleared by approximately 8 a.m.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding any injuries or the circumstances leading to the accident. Two lanes were closed during the response, leading to backups extending to adjacent roadways. Traffic is advised to use alternate routes until the area is fully cleared.
