Man arrested for crashing car into business and stabbing victim, held on $750,000 bail.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A man faces multiple charges after a domestic dispute led to a crash and stabbing at a Las Vegas Dollar Tree on Monday morning.

Shawn Handley, 45, crashed a vehicle into the store located on Craig Road near Decatur Boulevard at approximately 7:30 a.m., according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. He then reportedly stabbed a woman—believed to be the mother of his three children—following a text message threat regarding the incident.

Authorities reported that Handley faces 10 charges, including attempted murder and six counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Witnesses observed the stabbing, which occurred after Handley exited the vehicle.

A firearm was discharged during the incident, but police stated the shot came from a nearby individual attempting to intervene.

The prosecution revealed Handley has a criminal history with five felonies dating from 1998 to 2006. The defense requested bail be set at $30,000, arguing Handley has ties to the community and operates a commercial cleaning business.

However, Judge Suzan Baucum set bail at $750,000, citing public safety concerns linked to the premeditated nature of Handley's actions. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Handley is scheduled to appear in court again on March 26.
