Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 37-Year-Old in Rapid City

RAPID CITY — A 37-year-old man died following a motorcycle collision with a pickup truck on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. at the intersection of North 7th Street and Omaha Street. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it struck the pickup, which was turning left.

Emergency responders from the Rapid City Police Department and Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. Medical personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene; the driver of the pickup did not sustain injuries.

Authorities reported that both vehicles sustained extensive damage. The intersection was closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared and an investigation was conducted.
