New Hampshire Man Killed in I-95 Tractor-Trailer Crash in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A New Hampshire man died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-95 South near the Charles Street exit on Friday.
Rhode Island State Police reported that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the left lane struck a vehicle ahead of it. The impact caused the pickup truck to move into the middle lane, where it was subsequently struck from behind by a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the pickup, a 39-year-old man from Concord, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that none of the other individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries.
The incident led to significant delays, with multiple lanes on I-95 closed for over an hour. The lanes were cleared and reopened around 11:30 a.m., as reported by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
No citations or charges have been issued related to the incident, according to police.
