CASPER, Wyo. (WKRC) — A 30-year-old woman, identified as Kandice Gunter, was found dead Sunday morning in a vehicle on Casper Mountain Road.
Authorities responded to a report at approximately 9:20 a.m. regarding a vehicle that had reportedly left the roadway and breached a guardrail. First responders discovered the vehicle with Gunter as the sole occupant; she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Casper Police Department.
Gunter, who had been reported missing since October 29, was last seen in Natrona County that morning. The Natrona County Coroner's Office confirmed her identity. Police noted that the crash's circumstances and the cause of death are still under investigation, but no evidence of foul play or involvement from another individual has been found.
Witnesses reported concerns from Gunter's family when she failed to pick up her children, aged 9 and 6, from a local Boys & Girls Club on the day she went missing. Her sister described Gunter as a caring mother and noted this behavior was unusual for her.
Gunter had relocated to Casper from Nevada about a month prior to her disappearance to be closer to her children. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather information.
