Authorities are responding to a Learjet crash near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, that killed all nine people aboard on Sunday afternoon.

Officials confirmed that approximately 600 residents from a nearby mobile home community are being relocated as a precaution. Two shelters are on standby, and Palm Tran is ready to assist with transportation once evacuation protocols are established.

Military Trail remains closed between 10th Avenue North and Purdy Lane/Alameda Drive, with only emergency vehicles permitted in the area. Drivers should use alternate routes, including 10th Avenue North and Haverhill Road, until further notice.

Police reported no ground injuries, although some nearby residents experienced power outages. John I. Leonard High School will also be closed Monday as crews continue their work in the zone.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated the Learjet 60 crashed around 12:50 p.m. after departing Austin-Bergstrom International Airport en route to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Eyewitnesses described a loud boom, likening it to thunder, before observing flames and a large crater at the crash site.

The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, with updates expected as more information becomes available. Palm Beach County officials indicated that the roadway may face extended closures depending on the investigation's findings.

This is a developing story; authorities will provide further updates as they become available.
