NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — Police arrested a man on Oct. 21 in connection with an April hit-and-run crash that left another driver injured.
Raymond L. Wilkins, 50, faces charges of hit-and-run with serious bodily injury, habitual traffic offender, and driving on a suspended license (third or subsequent offense).
The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. on April 7 on Meeting Street Road near Banyan Street. According to authorities, one driver was found unconscious and trapped in a vehicle. A second vehicle at the scene was unoccupied, but evidence linked Wilkins to it.
At the time of the crash, Wilkins was wanted in Dorchester County for allegedly failing to appear in court on related charges. He was previously convicted of DUI in 2023 and sentenced to one day of time-served.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
