NORTHLAND, MO – Police are investigating a woman's death as a homicide following a vehicle collision on October 5, 2023.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Highway 169 near the intersection with North Oak Trafficway. A single vehicle was involved, which appeared to intentionally strike two other cars.
Emergency responders from the Kansas City Fire Department arrived on the scene and provided medical assistance. One woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
Authorities closed several lanes on Highway 169 for several hours while they conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Towing services were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.
According to the Police Department, the investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time. Witnesses reported seeing a troubling series of events leading up to the crash, but further details have not been confirmed by officials.
