DES MOINES, Iowa — A vehicle struck a utility pole on Wednesday, causing power outages in parts of the city.
According to Des Moines Police, the incident occurred around noon on Easton Boulevard, between East 27th Street and East 29th Street. The collision damaged the pole and knocked down wires; however, no injuries were reported.
Easton Boulevard is currently closed in both directions as emergency crews respond to the scene. Authorities indicated that the affected areas include Hubbell Avenue, East Euclid Avenue, and East 29th Street.
MidAmerican Energy is on-site addressing the power outage. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
