OLATHE, KS — A truck driver died early Wednesday after a semitrailer overturned on northbound I-35, causing significant traffic disruptions.
The accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. near the 119th Street exit, blocking multiple lanes during rush hour. Authorities confirmed that the driver, identified only as a 45-year-old male, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Emergency responders from the Olathe Fire Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Medical aid was provided, but the driver was pronounced dead on-site.
Two additional vehicles were involved in the collision, but no other serious injuries were reported. All northbound lanes remained closed for several hours as crews worked to clear debris and investigate the cause of the accident.
