INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — Three men are dead and two others are injured following a crash involving a red-light violation early Wednesday at 86th and Meridian streets.
The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. when an SUV ran a red light and collided with a car traveling east on 86th Street. Authorities confirmed that Forrest Coffee Jr., 32, the driver of the car, and Dashawn Williams, 24, a passenger in the SUV, died at the scene.
A third victim, 23-year-old Maxwell J. Szucs, was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office. Medics also took two additional men from the SUV to hospitals; one remains in critical condition while the other is stable.
The crash has raised concerns among local residents. Witnesses reported extensive debris at the scene, prompting discussions about red-light violations in the area.
