LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Delaware County — An 82-year-old Powell woman died after a single-vehicle crash around 12:50 p.m. Oct. 1 on Liberty Road.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Delaware Post, Claire Heringer, 82, was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry south on Liberty Road near Carriage Road when she went off the left side, struck a mailbox and a tree, and overturned.
She was transported by Liberty Township Fire Department medics to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Troopers said Heringer was wearing her seat belt. Drugs and/or alcohol are not being considered as contributing factors at this time, according to the patrol.
The crash remains under investigation, the patrol said.
