Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Park Avenue Crash

CRANSTON, R.I. — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with another vehicle on Park Avenue on Thursday night, according to Cranston police.

Police responded to the scene at 1363 Park Ave., near Honey Dew Donuts, at approximately 8:55 p.m. The was reportedly traveling west when it collided with a vehicle turning north onto Dyer Avenue, as stated by Police Chief Michael Winquist.

The impact resulted in the rider being thrown from the , striking the vehicle's windshield. Authorities noted that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

The injured motorcyclist was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. While police indicated that the injuries appeared serious, they were not considered life-threatening.

A witness informed law enforcement that the rider had been passing other vehicles just prior to the collision and may have been traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Traffic Unit is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
