MAYES COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A Pryor man died in a crash involving a Chevron sign and a tree in Mayes County on September 26.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Highway 82, where the driver, identified as 57-year-old Jerry Eugene Moore, was traveling southbound.
Authorities reported that Moore failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to veer off the roadway to the right. The vehicle struck a Chevron sign before colliding with a tree.
Moore was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
