LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Jefferson County Public Schools bus was involved in a crash on Friday morning, resulting in minor injuries.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), the collision occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of S. 28th St. and Wilson Ave., involving a school bus and a Ford Fusion. Authorities reported that the bus, designated No. 1834, was stopped when the Fusion entered the intersection and struck the bus on its side.
LMPD officials confirmed that there were children on the bus; two were transported to Norton Children's Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Fusion was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. That driver is expected to be cited for traffic violations.
Emergency responders from LMPD's Second Division were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9 a.m. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were implemented for the duration of the response and cleanup.
