LITTLE ROCK — Two individuals died Thursday afternoon following a collision caused by a deer that flew through the air onto their vehicle, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Highway 67 North near mile marker 123. Authorities reported that the vehicle, a sedan, lost control after being struck by the deer, subsequently crashing into a roadside embankment.
Emergency responders from the Little Rock Fire Department and local EMS were dispatched to the scene. Both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead upon arrival. Their identities are pending notification of next of kin.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The highway was temporarily closed in both directions to facilitate emergency response and investigation.
