PLEASANT HILL, Iowa — A pickup truck crashed into a house on NE 64th Street on Monday morning around 10 a.m., causing structural damage.
Authorities reported the driver lost control, veering off the roadway, hitting a tree that was pushed through the home's front doors before colliding with the house. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, no serious injuries were reported, and no one was inside the home at the time of the incident.
The house is currently uninhabitable, but deputies indicated that efforts are underway to stabilize the structure, allowing the homeowner potentially to return later Monday night.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing, although deputies have ruled out impairment as a factor. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the affected residents.
