EMMETT, Idaho — A rollover crash on Highway 52 on Wednesday evening resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to Idaho State Police.
The incident occurred when two men were driving a 2004 Ford Excursion northbound on Mountour Road, overcorrecting in a curve which caused the vehicle to slide off the roadway and roll. Both individuals were ejected from the vehicle, which subsequently caught fire upon coming to a stop.
Authorities confirmed that a 45-year-old man from Great Falls, Montana, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man, a 42-year-old from Emmett, Idaho, was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Mountour Road remained blocked for approximately four and a half hours as emergency crews responded to the scene.
Idaho State Police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
