Brookings – A 24-year-old man died Sunday morning, November 25, in a one-vehicle crash on 216th St., one mile south of Brookings.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. According to the Brookings County Sheriff's Office, the driver lost control of the vehicle before it rolled over.
Emergency responders from the Brookings Fire Department and the South Dakota Highway Patrol arrived on the scene. Medical personnel confirmed the man's death shortly thereafter.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. The roadway was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
According to officials, they are looking into the factors that contributed to the crash. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.
