LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — One woman was killed and two passengers injured in a crash on US-259 Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to an accident at US-259 and Zafra Rd. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a vehicle traveling southbound attempted to pass another vehicle that was turning, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the passing vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Chelsea Patterson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in Patterson's vehicle were transported to the hospital with injuries. The driver of the other vehicle reported no injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and traffic on the roadway may experience delays due to lane closures related to the crash response and investigation.
