Two killed and two injured in multi-vehicle crash in Thomson Township.

THOMSON TOWNSHIP, MN — Two people died and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday, December 26, at 9:02 a.m. near the intersection of Canosia and East Stark roads.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders found a GMC Sierra pickup and a Impala in a ditch upon arrival. The two occupants of the Impala, Anthony Drake, 57, and Tammy Drake, 57, both of Oronoco, Minnesota, were at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, a 32-year-old man, and a 1-year-old boy, both from Thomson Township, were transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. Their injuries have not yet been confirmed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but authorities stated that they do not believe alcohol or substance impairment was a factor.

Assisting the Carlton County Sheriff's Office were the Minnesota State Patrol, Cloquet Area Fire District, Esko Fire Department, and Carlton Fire and Ambulance.
