Folsom Man Dies in Off-Road Vehicle Crash on La. Highway 25
Franklinton, LA — A Folsom man died in an off-road vehicle crash on La. Highway 25 at approximately 1:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Louisiana State Police.
Timothy Blackwell, 48, was operating a Can-Am multi-seat UTV when he was ejected from the vehicle after colliding with a 2004 Saturn ION. Authorities reported that Blackwell was driving on the northbound shoulder before entering the lane of traffic where the Saturn struck him.
Blackwell was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the UTV and the Saturn driver sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers, officials said. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
