WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WCHS) — A man was killed and a woman injured in a single-vehicle crash on Galena Pike on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred just after 2:15 p.m. near Washington Boulevard, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Authorities reported that the vehicle, traveling northbound, veered off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail and a fence.
The driver, 34-year-old Robert Spencer of West Portsmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers confirmed that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
