CHARLESTON — City police reopened Highway 41 after a fatal crash closed the roadway for several hours on July 22.
At approximately 3 p.m. that day, a collision occurred at Highway 41 and Reflectance Drive, prompting a full closure of the highway in both directions.
Authorities reported that traffic remained blocked until about 8 p.m., when the roadway was eventually reopened. Reflectance Drive and Halfway Creed Road were reopened earlier, by 6:30 p.m., according to an announcement from the Charleston Police Department.
The incident resulted in one confirmed fatality, although additional details regarding injuries and vehicle types have not been disclosed. Emergency responders from local agencies attended the scene to provide medical aid and conduct an investigation into the incident.
