POLAND — A motorcycle crash left a local man with serious injuries Tuesday evening at the Route 11 and North Raymond Road intersection.
Dylan Deconzo, 32, was riding south on Bakerstown Road (Route 11) when his motorcycle collided with an SUV around 8:35 p.m., according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office.
Deconzo was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle, landing in a ditch on the northbound side of the road. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he remains in critical condition.
The SUV's driver, 48-year-old Anne Emrick of Charlestown, Massachusetts, did not sustain any injuries.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle had been operating without its headlight prior to the collision.
The intersection was closed for approximately four hours for the investigation, which is ongoing, authorities said.
