PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A fatal two-vehicle crash closed U.S. 40 at Alton Darby Creek Road on Tuesday morning.
According to investigators, a red 2025 Ford Mustang traveling west on U.S. 40 struck a white 2025 Kenworth FedEx semi that was turning from the eastbound lanes onto Alton Darby Creek Road.
Authorities said the Mustang driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Medics transported the semi driver to Grant Hospital.
Investigators said the Mustang came to rest facing west in a ditch at the northwest corner of the intersection. The Kenworth stopped in the intersection, blocking all eastbound and westbound lanes.
Crews shut down U.S. 40 in both directions at the intersection while emergency responders worked the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
