Fatal crash during illegal street race leaves one dead, two injured.

AURORA, Colo. — A 19-year-old man suspected of driving under the influence crashed during an illegal street race early Saturday morning, resulting in a fatality and two injuries, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The incident took place around 12:47 a.m. at East Alameda Parkway and South Chambers Road. Authorities reported that a BMW sedan was racing eastbound when the driver, identified as Edwin Rosales-Sandoval of Denver, lost control, struck a grocery store sign, and overturned.

Rosales-Sandoval sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was , along with a 17-year-old passenger who suffered minor injuries. An adult male passenger died at the scene; his identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police confirmed that Rosales-Sandoval was driving with a revoked license from a prior DUI and now faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide.

An investigation is ongoing.
