Interstate 70 westbound at the Downtown interchange reopened around 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 24 after a three-vehicle crash closed the highway for nearly seven hours.
The crash, which occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m., involved a van and two tractor-trailers. Three individuals sustained injuries, with two hospitalized in stable condition and one in critical condition. All were transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. The conditions of the injured were not immediately updated.
Traffic from I-71 north was temporarily diverted onto I-71 south, causing significant delays and congestion. As reported by the Ohio Department of Transportation, lingering traffic issues persist on the highway.
⚠️ Update: Major delays are also reported on I-71 southbound at I-70 westbound. Drivers are advised to use I-670 westbound as an alternate route. Link to update (Columbus Division of Police).
