Sand Hollow Firefighters Rescue Crash Victim from Canal Off I-84.

SAND HOLLOW, Idaho (CBS2) — Emergency responders were dispatched to a crash on Interstate 84 that concluded with the vehicle submerged in a canal on October 12, 2023.

The Sand Hollow Fire Department led the response, utilizing water rescue training to retrieve the vehicle. The Caldwell Fire Department and New Plymouth Fire Department provided additional water rescue technicians.

Authorities confirmed no injuries or fatalities from the incident. The Payette County Sheriff's Office, Idaho State Police, and Payette County Paramedics also assisted on the scene.

Investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with mutual aid highlighting the coordination among regional agencies. Lane closures were implemented on I-84 during the response, but all lanes have since reopened.
