MAKIKI, HI — An e-motorcyclist was critically injured Saturday night in a collision caused by an illegal U-turn on Punahou Street.
Authorities said the incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. involving two vehicles: a passenger car and the e-motorcycle. The driver of the car made an illegal U-turn, leading to the crash.
Emergency Medical Services transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital in critical condition. There were no other reported injuries at the scene.
The Honolulu Police Department is currently investigating the accident. Witnesses reported seeing the U-turn maneuver prior to the collision.
According to traffic reports, lanes on Punahou Street were temporarily closed for the investigation and clearing of the scene. Towing services were called to remove the vehicles involved. Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
