Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Hammond
HAMMOND, LA — Two riders were killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday evening at the intersection of W. Thomas Street and Chanell Shopping Center, authorities said.
According to the Hammond Police Department, the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed while improperly passing another vehicle when it struck a car. The impact ejected the riders, who landed outside of the roadway.
Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released.
Authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle involved was not injured. Police do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
