LAUREL, DE – A 25-year-old Laurel man died following a head-on collision on Route 9 near Harbeson on Oct. 16.
Authorities said the man was driving a Honda Civic westbound around 6:15 p.m. when he crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding with an Audi A4 driven by an 18-year-old woman from Hockessin.
The driver of the Honda was not properly restrained and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The Audi driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment.
Route 9 was closed during the investigation and subsequent clearance of the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting the investigation.
