ICE vehicle crash in Providence; no serious injuries reported.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A collision involving an vehicle and a civilian sedan occurred on Chalkstone Avenue near Raymond Street around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities reported that the vehicle, responding with emergency lights but no sirens, entered the intersection against a red light. The civilian sedan, which had a green light on Raymond Street, collided with the ICE vehicle, causing the ICE vehicle to veer onto the sidewalk and crash into a utility pole.

No serious injuries were reported, and no arrests were made following the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Neighbors reported seeing considerable damage and federal agents at the crash site. A witness noted the unmarked ICE vehicle crossed the intersection on red, leading to the collision.

City officials confirmed that Providence Police do not participate in immigration enforcement and assured residents that safety and access to services are priorities.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the details surrounding the crash.
