16-Year-Old Girl in Critical Condition Following Collision in Northfield

A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition after colliding with two pickup trucks while turning into her driveway on Route 192 in Northfield. The accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Maine State Police, the girl was making a left turn from the northbound lane of Route 192 when her Honda Accord collided with a southbound GMC pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Perin Yates of East Machias. The impact caused the Honda to spin out and subsequently hit another GMC pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Aaron Getchell of Whitneyville, who was following closely behind.

Both Yates and the 16-year-old were transported to a local hospital. While her condition is critical, authorities stated she is expected to survive. Getchell reported no injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and no additional details regarding lane closures or vehicle tows have been released.
