HUGHES COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A 78-year-old woman from Tulsa died in a head-on collision in Hughes County on Friday morning.
At approximately 9:40 a.m., emergency crews responded to a crash near E. 1250 Rd. and N. 391 Rd. According to authorities, a northbound vehicle crossed into the southbound lane while negotiating a curve and collided with a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, identified as Linda Coker, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
No other injuries were reported. The roadway was temporarily closed during the investigation and cleanup.
