63-Year-Old Man Dies Following Crash on Vineyard Off-Ramp.

HONOLULU, HI — A 63-year-old man died following a vehicle crash on the H-1 Freeway early Sunday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:18 a.m. when the man, traveling westbound, lost control after striking a concrete median and crashed into the Vineyard off-ramp wall, according to Honolulu Police.

Emergency responders transported him in critical condition to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police confirmed he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident; however, his identity has not yet been released.

Authorities indicated that speed did not appear to be a contributing factor, while the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains under investigation.

This incident marks Oahu's 11th traffic fatality of the year, in contrast to 18 at the same point last year.

The investigation is ongoing.
