Chicago, IL. – Two women were killed in a traffic collision that left two other people injured on Sunday morning in Chicago's Northwest Side.
The double-fatal crash happened in the 8700 block of West Irving Park Road at around 12:16 a.m., according to the police.
A red sedan was traveling westbound on Irving Park Road when it hit an eastbound SUV occupied by three women.
A 30-year-old woman from the SUV suffered trauma to the body and was taken to Lutheran General, where she later died. The second woman, 56, was taken to Resurrection Hospital, where she also died.
The third woman, 23, was transported to Lutheran General in fair condition.
The 29-year-old man who was driving the sedan was also hospitalized in fair condition.
A third vehicle was involved, but the driver was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
