18-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Crash in Kapolei.

KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Island News) – An 18-year-old man died following a collision in Kapolei on Tuesday night around 11 p.m.

According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on the Kalaeloa Blvd off-ramp at a high rate of speed when he lost control and collided with a concrete barrier. The impact caused the rider to be onto the roadway.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to a nearby hospital in serious condition, where he was later . Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Police stated that speed was a contributing factor in the crash; however, it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role. This incident marks Oahu's 21st traffic fatality of the year, compared to 39 at the same time in 2025.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
